Spring work: bud selection

The vines enjoyed sunny conditions in March, with bud-break coming early (around March 27). After the last spring chills, we began thinning out the buds. This consists of removing, vine-by-vine, all the new shoots which are badly positioned or too clustered together (low branches, double buds etc). This slow, painstaking process took the team around three weeks to complete, concluding in early June.
